Local Leads Look To Local Newspapers Online

Not sure where to spend your online advertising budget?  If you’re trying to find local leads and local prospects for your real estate market, you might want to first review the findings of a new study by comScore for the Newspaper Association of America.

Some of the findings about local newspaper advertising are eye-opening:

  • Local newspaper sites are seen by consumers as “…the most trusted source of online advertising, with ads that are perceived to be more current, credible and relevant to them.”
  • More than one-third (36 percent) selected local newspaper websites for trustworthy advertising compared to less than one-fourth (23 percent) for local television websites and less than one-in-eight (12 percent) for online portals.
  • Four in ten adults “…agreed that their opinion of online advertising is influenced by the type of website on which the ad appears.”
  • Newspaper sites ranked first as a source for local information (29 percent) and local classifieds (39 percent), ahead of both local television web sites and online portals.
  • 57 percent of respondents identified local newspaper websites as the top online source for local information, more than any other media.

Local is where it’s at.  Home buyers and sellers in your area are looking for you!  And, a trusted source that buyers and sellers turn to is the website of local newspapers.  Get your name out there in the local source that many turn to — your hometown or regional newspaper’s website.

Share your experiences with local newspaper online advertising.
